I price each wedding cake individually. Wedding cakes can vary in price depending on many variables including size and level of decoration required. A fondant finish cake, for example, is always going to be more expensive than a buttercream finish cake, as a fondant cake is more labour and time intensive.
A starting price for a 3-tier buttercream finish cake is $600 plus extras such as fresh flowers, cake stand hire and delivery costs. Once you receive your quote you will need to pay $100 deposit within 2 weeks of booking in order to secure your wedding date.
Private tasting and design consultations are available for $40 per couple and are subject to availability. Alternatively, sample packs can be arranged and collected from the Mount Lawley studio.
Coffee or Dessert size portions
Are you wanting to serve your cake to your guests as their dessert? If so, you will be wanting to order the larger, dessert size portions. Alternatively, if your venue is providing you with dessert options as part of a package, then I would suggest ordering the smaller, coffee size portions, which are usually served after the formal dinner with a cup of tea or coffee.
Some couples are opting to have their cake cutting directly after the ceremony as a way of filling in that time between the ceremony and the reception while they disappear briefly for their photo sessions. That way their guests are refreshed and entertained while waiting for your grand entrance!
